AA Consolation Semi Finals
The AA Consolation Semifinals are now underway. Stay tuned for further updates.
Zach Beitz Juniata
What a great state tournament for Zach Beitz. Zach, a Freshman at Juniata HS in Mifflintown, just earned his first trip to the State Championship. Zach started his quest for gold by defeating Tanner Hough from Westmont-Hilltop 8-7. Zach then defeated returning state silver medalist (last year at 103) Mason Beckman from Reynolds 5-4 in the quarterfinals and then defeated returning 2008 state champion Luke Frey from Montoursville 4-2 in the semifinals. Zach will now face another talented freshman in Wyomissing's Arty Walsh in the 2009 PIAA AA 112 State Championship. These two wrestlers are no strangers to each other as they met in the Finals of the District 3 Championships with Beitz coming out with a slim 3-2 win. Good luck to both wrestlers in tomorrow's PIAA State Championship.
